This pin honors Iron Liege, winner of the 1957 Kentucky Derby after Willie Shoemaker famously misjudged the finish on Gallant Man, allowing Iron Liege to win by a nose with jockey William Hartack up. Iron Liege was bred and owned at the famous Calumet Farm near Lexington, Kentucky and trained by Horace Jones, son of U.S. Racing Hall of Fame trainer Ben A. Jones.
