1990 Unbridled Tac Pin

This pin honors Unbridled, winner of the 1990 Kentucky Derby with jockey Craig Perret up. After Unbridled got caught in a pack right out of the gate, he raced along the inside rail and managed to break away to win over Summer Squall by 3 ½ lengths. Unbridled went on to lose the Preakness and Belmont, but dominate in the 1990 Breeders’ Cup. After a successful racing career, he retired to stud, the grandsire of Eight Belles and sire of 1996 Derby Winner Grindstone. He was bred by James H. Binger of the Tartan Farms Corporation in Florida, owned by Frances A. Gentner and trained by Carl Nafzger.
A Kentucky Derby Museum Exclusive.
